For the rest of us, finding a perfect gift to match an upcoming anniversary, birthday or any occasion is not a big deal. However, if you are one of those people who find it rather frustrating to pick up the right present for your boyfriend, here’s my personal take.
Does your boyfriend love music? Know what particularly genre he listens most of the time, then hop into your favorite music store to buy a CD or two. Alternatively, you can buy him a portable digital player and load it up with his favorite playlist. If you are buying him a CD, just make sure he doesn’t have that collection already, or it’s no longer a surprise. MP3 player is good as well as iTunes gift cards. They make an awesome duo.
If your boyfriend were a bit inclined into fashion, buying him a nice shirt would do the trick. Don’t know his shirt size? No problem. Just sneak into his closet or laundry while he’s out busy doing something downstairs. Also, to make it even more unique, have it printed with some whacky or out-of-this-world cartoon characters. The idea here is to give something that he can’t find elsewhere.
Does he enjoy taking pictures of bridges, birds or people? Digital cameras make excellent gifts on his birthday or in any special occasion. But if you can’t afford it, just buy him a book loaded with photography tips or tricks. You can find lots of them from your local bookstores, and of course, on thousands of online stores. Or, find neat photograph or even prints and pair it with a matching frame. If you need nothing less than a euphoric response, always think about those things that will make him smile, happy and important to him especially on his birthday.
This brings us to our next tip – the dogs. Is he a dog or a pet lover? If not, then don’t bother looking for any domesticated animals served as great pets. Some people find dogs interesting, others feel the same to snakes, lizards and other exotic animals. Again, don’t give him a puppy, unless he likes one. If he is fond of taking care of those little white rats (a.k.a. hamster) that go around in circles, then buy him a pair or two.
And if your boyfriend is one of those technologically-oriented guys out there, giving him a personal digital assistant will surely make his day. Add a leather briefcase too. If your boyfriend is working, he can use it every day, and remembers your name each time he looks at it because you had your names engraved into the case. And guess what, if he knows how to take care of it, it will last 30 years or more.
We could go on forever enumerating every possible gift items you can give to your boyfriend, and there are millions of them. If you are still undecided, don’t rush sweetheart. Secretly observe what your boyfriend wants or likes and then look for a gift that closely matches to his desire especially if the occasion is his birthday. Who knows a simple video game will make him happy and love you even more.
